If you’ve ever heard “Boozin And Pranks” you can tell when this happens. And GG wasted no time in firing up the doob on stage!

Count Lyle: “He told us to play the songs no matter what he did. Of course we said yes, but really didn’t understand why he gave us that instruction until we started up. The place went into chaos and we would not have been sure what to do, except that he told us to just keep playing the songs as we lear”

Count Lyle: “We did the Twilight Room in Dallas for about 50-60 people. The gig was a usual GG show with shit, blood and chaos. Everyone stood at he back of the hall except a few brave skaters and a weird chick in a white dress. Of course GG jumped on the chick and got her pretty angry. Not one person attempted to help her as he rubbed his ass on her and got the white dress all dirty. Supposedly, someone filmed the gig, but I have never personally seen the tape.”

If Angrep was the war, ‘I utakt med verden’ is conceptually the time after a lost one, where we lick our wounds and count our dead. Slowed down.  Someone said that listening this album was like being trapped under water, and there was no chance to breathe air until the end of it.

UK Black Metal act GLEMT brings forth their debut long play record entitled “Eclipsing Through The Womb Of Twilight And Dementia”. This album falls nothing short of pure audible chaos and insanity forcing the listener to become engulfed in the pure darkness of the void so they become an active participant in the rituals manifested through Glemt. Therefore this is more of a pact between the void and the forbidden, leaving no room for light or hope for all life.

This album was manifested through the will of tormented spirits that made themselves know through Magick and communication with the deceased. This, therefore, opens forth the Left-Hand Path and the bleak passageway into the utter blackness of deaths abyss past the point of no return, so that all forbidden truths are relieved.

In 2017, GOATMOON truly etched its name its Finnish black metal legendry with Stella Polaris, a monument of cosmic, snow-capped majesty. The entirely dungeon synth Silver Serpent followed in 2021, but now arrives GOATMOON’s full-length return to black metal with What Once Was… Shall Be Again. As presaged by its title, there’s an undeniably yearning and nostalgic aspect to the band’s characteristically epic ruminations, occasionally/often dusted by folkloric synths. But if one were to assume that What Once Was… Shall Be Again would further continue that refinement – and indeed, in large part, it does – the album equally takes GOATMOON back to their earliest, rawest roots, here temped by the steely-eyed austerity of older age and wisdom. It’s a skillful balance pulled off with aplomb, proving that the band honor their history but rarely repeat themselves. And more than anything, it provides another dazzling new canvas on which warriors and dreamers can explore…but no safe spaces here, of course. No other words necessary: What Once Was… Shall Be Again!
