  • Tapias De Pilatos (COL) – Cementerio de Excomulgados CD 13.88

    Black Metal

Ultra morbid sepulchral Black Metal from Bogota, Columbia. Fittingly named after a local cemetery for the excommunicated, Tapias De Pilatos sounds like possessed cadavers rising from the dead after centuries. The vocals are totally dead, creaking tales of the moribund in Spanish, and the production is dry as deceased flesh turning into dust in eternal darkness. This work is an evocation of human evil, inspired by terrifying stories from Bogota and Colombia. The history of the band dates all the way back to 1994, yet their only release prior to this is a 1999 demo that didn’t see it’s real release until 2019. Without sounding retro nor following any current streams pestering the underground, on their 2022 debut album Cementerio de Excomulgados they conjure back the spirit of times when Black Metal meant something truly demonic, scary and above all: original.

  • Taranis (POL) – Faust PIC-LP 30.88

    Black Metal

Taranis and Urtod Void have signed a covenant on the 30th anniversary of “Faust”, to seal an exceptional reissue of this legendary album. After the mysterious end of the band, many questions remained unanswered. Aside from what exactly was responsible for the ending (at this point we would recommend the book “Rzeźpospolita” by Piotr Dorosiński, you will definitely find some answers to your questions there), many are wondering when Faust will receive its well-deserved reissue. For everyone who is not familiar with this album, prepare for a somewhat more developed work, even a concept album that is divided into two parts (plays). These two parts “Waltz Mephistoph” and “Balneum Diaboli” are about a psychodramatic act with Faust and Mephisto, which was presented just too brilliantly by the band, not only musically but also lyrically and artistically. But convince yourself…

  • Taranis (POL) – The Obscurity PIC-LP 28.88

    Black Metal

On a frosty night in February 1991 a band was born in the once secret and mystical underground of Poland. A band which, albeit existing for a mere few years, would create a masterpiece of Polish underground black metal. Taking their rightfull place in the history of the genre, Taranis are now considered to be pioneers of Polish Black Metal along with acts such as Xantotol, Christ Agony, Graveland and Behemoth. Where as other bands of the scene would take inspiration from Rotting Christ, Sarcófago or Bathory, Taranis instead took their source of inspiration from the works of Swiss black metal act Samael and the dark poetic art of Polish writer and practitioner of gnostic mysticism, Tadeusz Miciński. Devoting the entirety of “The Obscurity” to Miciński and all those following a similar path of dark arts and mysteries, the time has come to let this darkness blossom again.

  • Temple Of The Beast (USA) – Geminian Arcana LP 26.88

    Black Metal

TEMPLE OF THE BEAST is the work of one DarkWvlf, well known in the black metal scene as Blackthorn, founding vocalist/drummer of the long-running Thornspawn. But those expecting a blitzed assault of classic Norsecore will be in for a surprise with TEMPLE OF THE BEAST: oft-lumbering ritualism that slithers its way into hammering primitivism, recalling the earliest works of Samael, Mystifier, Demoncy, and Drawing Down the Moon-era Beherit but exuding its own strange, ethereal identity.

  • Tenhi (FIN) – Airut:Aamujen LP 26.88

    Neofolk / Acoustic

Merely eight months after their recent studio album ‘Maaäet’, Tenhi present the piano-dominated ‘Airut:Aamujen’, the next chapter in the band’s own ‘Airut’ saga in autumn 2006. The album is the sequel to Tenhi’s ‘Airut:Ciwi’ EP (2001), especially to the track ‘Kielo’. It was originally released in a small limited edition through Tenhi’s own Utustudio label in December 2004 under the name Harmaa.

  • Tenhi (FIN) – Maaäet LP 26.88

    Neofolk

There have been comfortingly few changes in Tenhi since their last album “Väre”; this Finnish band is still performing its unique brand of nature music, music that is above all atmospheric and touching.
But there’s a lot more to it: for years now, the musicians have been stressing the meaning of the aesthetics beyond their compositions, as Tenhi is meant to be a reflection of their sensitive perception of
nature, not only in sound, but also in lyrics and pictures.
Musically, vocals, piano, and violin are clearly mixed to the fore, giving “Maaäet” a more immediate expression. This
picturesque character is mirrored in symbolic images that have been
specifically created for the twelve new tracks, adding a fairy-tale quality
to the whole work of art.

  • Tenhi (FIN) – Väre LP 26.88

    Neofolk

You just want to close your eyes and enjoy the moment. On their second album, Tenhi once again take the listener into the endless depths of Lapland. However, the development of the band is clear to hear. The pieces are more diverse, combining the atmospheric, partly rocky moments of their debut album “Kauan” with the shamanistic sounds of their mini CD “airut:ciwi”. “Väre” creates images before your mind’s eye … pictures of unspoiled country-sides and deep forests far away from civilisation…
