UMBRA CONSCIENTIA is a new project debuting on Terratur Possessions. Six tracks of extremely intense, well crafted, direct and aggressive Black Metal not unlike the greats such as Katharsis and Funeral Mist, but yet maintaining it’s own identity. I’m not a big fan of comparing bands and name dropping other acts, but seeing how this is a brand new band and release, I figured it couldn’t hurt to name two obvious inspirations to catch people’s attention out there. It’s truly an album worth checking out.

On their third full-length album, “Es grauet”, Ungfell abducts listeners on a sonic journey detailing moral ambivalence and treachery. Set in a seemingly idyllic rural village in pre-modern times, all is not as it seems. Tragedy strikes the town in the form of a horrific, grisly murder. Unfounded accusations lead the town further astray, while these occurrences of debauchery exceed the comprehension of the local inhabitants. Alas, evil lurks where you may least expect it… The story unfolds, accompanied by ravaging riffs and gripping songwriting that appropriately underline the complex, yet harrowing narrative. “Es grauet” shows Ungfell at their most ambitious and most audacious, featuring incredibly dynamic and warm production values, emphasizing atmosphere even more than previous releases, and managing to compliment the story being told.

URFAUST’s new offering under the spell ‘Teufelsgeist’ is an impressive diptych of music (the devil) and spirit (geist).

URFAUST has orchestrated an album that represents the stages of intoxication. It starts with an almost euphoric state but slowly devolves in a downward spiralling delirium. Ambient in it’s nature, but still filled with the pounding drums, guitars and unique vocals that are trademark URFAUST. A vessel to board to float to intoxication island. The perfect soundtrack that will hold the ritual drinker in it’s grip for 34 minutes.

With “The Constellatory Practise” URFAUST has returned once again to harvest souls in their vessel of transcending intoxication.

The Ouroborus is now coming full circle after “apparitions” and “empty space mediation”, this is the final chapter of the holy trinity…

Almost 25 years has passed since the original edition that was released as a double CD; the official one out through ISD Records and the other one, that seemed a bootleg, even if with some interesting hints. Both have always been very hard to find, even on the web, the first one being more unique than rare.
Considering the historical value and the relevance of the bands involved, we have started our research of both editions in order to create the final version of the best compilation ever: yes, this DLP contains BOTH releases!

This adventure has been harder than we thought and without the help of some comrades (that we thank publicly) that opened their historical/musical archives in order to extract some tracks, it would have never been possible..

The sound isn’t remastered, but “leveled” in order to balance the sound of the different songs. Obviously the volumes and the quality of each track differs from the other, but what would you expect? Have fun with this legendary piece of music under the Christmas tree with your family and friends, because this is the best gift you can do for yourselves this year!
