  • Hinthial (ITA) – :Rasna: 10″MLP 18.88

    Black Metal

In the womb of one of the secrets of time lies an inalienable resonance between the roots of man and his history cognizance. Oftenly, the seeking of an endless spirit endowment engulfs him with a veil of barren knowledge, that commonly ties his thoughts and reflections to the boundaries of an ordinary living, dragged by a flux of invisible strands that may craft a path leading nowhere. Sometimes, this delivers into a self-inducted catharsis where the glorious pursuit of ancient trails in own’s blood turns imperative. Despite it being minimum or gigantic. Pure as a child’s heart or intertwined as a chimera. This seed is what made man within and not without. Empowering him to step above all his previous versions yet giving birth to what will become his spiritform.

  • Hollow Woods (FIN) – Cold Winds Cleave the Earth LP 23.88

    Black Metal

After 2019’s well-received Endless Trails demo via SIGNAL REX, HOLLOW WOODS strike with a full-length debut fittingly titled Cold Winds Cleave the Earth. While hailing from Finland, this mysterious entity largely eschew their homeland’s reigning black metal idiom, instead taking influence from Ukraine (Roman Saenko’s projects), Norway (early Ulver, equally early Gorgoroth), and especially Russia (the Blazebirth Hall collective). In other words, pure & proud BLACK METAL, nevertheless done with personality and charisma.

  • Holsteiner Jungs (DEU) – Flaschen und Fäuste LP 26.88

    RAC/Oi!

For the first time on vinyl! Official and only authorized Holsteiner Jungs re-release, no bootleg pressing, no “private edition,” and no “imported fan edition” from dubious scene crooks at brothel prices!

The Holsteiner Jungs released the material recorded in the fall of 1997 at Vanguard Studio as their fourth album, “Flaschen & Fäuste,” on Walhalla Records (a sub-label of Rock-o-Rama) in the spring of 1998. Kai Stüwe of Freikorps and his fellow musicians didn’t hold back, delivering their most musically coherent work to date. Bright, melodic guitars pounded at a nice pace, matching the ribald lyrics, marked by anger at the bourgeois world with a healthy dose of bite!

  • Holsteiner Jungs (DEU) – Wir Geben Niemals Auf! LP 26.88

    RAC/Oi!

The Holstein boys followed up their second work with this release in 1997. The debut album “Back on the Streets” had already been released a year earlier, which received a lot of positive feedback. As is well known, the Holsteiner Jungs were another band of Freikorps frontman Kai Stüwe. The Holstein boys’ music sounded similar, but less melodic than Freikorps, but it came across as a bit harder and snottier. Compared to the main band, the lyrics were more street-oriented and socially critical. All in all, the rough lyrics are characterized by anger at the bourgeois world with a good dose of bite!

    RAC/Oi!

The official Holsteiner Jungs “Back on the Streets” re-release! No bootlegging, no “private edition,” and no “imported fan edition” from dubious scene crooks at brothel prices!

The brilliant 1996 debut album from the Freikorps side project, now finally officially available on vinyl. While Freikorps was more concerned with political themes, Kai S. dedicated his side project to the street rock ‘n’ roll genre, blasting out brutal and gruff anthems that any interested listener can still identify with today. Between 1996 and 2001, eight studio productions were created, which over time achieved true cult status.

  • House Of Atreus (USA) – Orations DIGI-CD 15.88

    Black Metal

Since their emergence in 2011, HOUSE OF ATREUS have become one of the most singular hordes to hail from North American soil during that time. Across a demo, an EP, and two successive full-lengths, the Minnesota natives have patiently and painstakingly crafted death metal of a most epic order. A veritable riff-machine, HOUSE OF ATREUS are powered by the Greek tragedies and have that very same tragedy (as well as triumph) coursing through their rough ‘n’ rugged veins. Theirs is a sound unapologetically influenced by the ancient Hellenic legends Varathron and Rotting Christ as well as other singular riff-machines like Grand Belial’s Key and Arghoslent, and the earliest and most blackened works of Running Wild. However, HOUSE OF ATREUS handily transcend these influences, as evidenced by their critically acclaimed second album, From the Madness of Ixion, released in 2018 by IRON BONEHEAD. Truly, the quartet managed to add to this glorious lineage rather than merely bottom-feed off it.

  • Hulder (USA) – Godslastering Hymns of a Forlorn Peasantry LP 26.88

    Black Metal

Just like debut albums properly should, Godslastering Hymns of a Forlorn Peasantry straddles both HULDER’s past as well as unearthing new paths. Within the eight songs comprising the 40-minute record, Hulder spans myriad generations and idioms of black metal, but all deeply rooted in ’90s classicism: from the paganisms of earliest Enslaved, Ulver, Isvind, and Kampfar to the hypnotizing grit of classic Judas Iscariot and Grand Belial’s Key, on to the mystical majesty of unsung Greeks like Zemial and Kawir and even over to the woodland wonder of old Opera IX. Which is all to say that HULDER here not so much mimic their forebears so much as meld the idiosyncrasies inherent to each into a masterclass in all-caps BLACK METAL songwriting: dynamic, engaging, nuanced, and transportive, but undeniably physical in its pulsing vistas of darkness and mystery. Likewise, Godslastering Hymns of a Forlorn Peasantry is structured like a true album, with Side 1 kicking in an utterly feral manner and cresting along to vicious wanderlust and ending on the eerily restrained near-ambient hymn “De Dijle,” and then Side 2 furthering the synth mysticism and maintaining a more triumphant aspect, with the closing magickal march of “From Whence an Ancient Evil Once Reigned” sounding not unlike a lost relic from Grieghallen circa 1994. And all this is encased in a production that’s rich, robust, and rounded; only the rawness of the performances bleed into the soundfield, a clear division from HULDER’s earlier demo days.
