Black Metal

Teloituskäsky order goes on catching melodic black metal for eight songs. The formula is very familiar to those who already know the band: fast-paced, but not actually catching black metal with very addictive melodies.

Black Metal

Silver Knife are a Belgian/Dutch/French black metal entity driven by an aggressive melancholy, and Unyielding/Unseeing is their first public recording. Written and recorded in Belgium during the Summer of 2019, these six songs embody both a reminiscence and departure from the musical styles the musicians have exhibited through bands like Cult of Erinyes, Hypothermia, Laster and Nusquama. Balancing between a bittersweet, glimmering atmosphere and sheer force whilst engaging with themes such as obscured alienation and interminable conflict, Silver Knife provide a sharp soundtrack for those who are too reluctant to wallow in self-pity, offering a harsh incentive in the midst of trying times.

Skalf è un progetto musicale creato nel 2020 da due membri di Umbra Noctis, extreme metal band attiva dal 2005. La loro musica si distingue per un sound a nostro avviso piuttosto particolare, influenzato tanto dal black metal atmosferico quanto dal death/doom degli anni novanta, con un tocco quasi heavy, che si percepisce in particolare negli assoli di chitarra.
Il monicker “Skalf” deriva del nome dialettale della Val di Scalve (àl de Scàlf), vallata montana delle Orobie cui siamo molto legati; questo progetto è (e sarà sempre) focalizzato sulle vicende avvenute, raccontate e tramandate in quella terra. “Vallis Decia” è un concept sul disastro del Gleno, tragedia colposa di cui quest’anno si celebra il centenario.

Dungeon Synth

Solanum was founded by B.S. back in 1997 after Depressive Silence split up. Compared to Depressive Silence Solanum’s concept is more cosmic and its sound has a different, rather uplifting and more futuristic atmosphere, but like Depressive Silence the Solanum demos are genre classics and provided a considerable influence for later Dungeon Synth and Cosmic Black Metal projects.

So it is a great honour for Northern Silence to be able to reissue both Solanum demos, remastered for optimal sound, and for the first time ever with exclusive artworks by master artist David Thiérée.

Snowland MMXII” is the complete re-recording of the first Sorcier Des Glaces album “Snowland”.
The band wanted to give an updated vision of their very first work, as they thought the original one had great riffs and atmosphere, but was poorly executed and recorded. They managed to preserve the rawness and the primitive essence that characterized their first album, but with a more defined sound and production values.

Also, Sorcier Des Glaces didn’t use any keyboards on “Snowland MMXII” in opposite to the original 1997 “Snowland”. SDG don’t use keyboards anymore in their songs since the third album (The Puressence of Primitive Forests), so that re-recorded version of Snowland is more in tune with the actual sound of the band.

Truly, the evidence is there with SORGETID’s first public recording, the full-length Natt av Tusen Dödsfall. Endearingly and engagingly familiar yet done with the deft nous for which V-Khaoz is known, SORGETID’s first salvo is based purely on intuition and the man’s need “to get quite old stuff out of my head – no future, no past.” Existing within those reverently stringent boundaries, Natt av Tusen Dödsfall unveils a landscape rife with melancholy and madness, nostalgia and nightsky mysticism, fury and wonder woven together with elder chainmail forged in the fires of olde. Eight songs across 37 minutes are more than sufficient to paint the atmospheres and sensations that seemingly exist out of time. The album’s no less raw nor polished than it needs to be; rather, it IS, unyielding and undying.
