  • Nidafjällen (SWE) – Evig Stillhet DIGI-CD 15.88

    Black Metal

“ A mid-tempo black metal act that due to the lower pace and also some synth usage presents its aesthetic between lo-fi and atmospheric subgenres of this genre, but still supported by a quite harmonious songwriting and thus delivering a fabulous pitch black starting pack. While I perceive it to be a mid-paced approach it does not always stay like that. It brings some damaging portions of blackness to the table on a few faster occasions , giving a glimpse on what it could be if the tempo was slightly faster while also presenting a few nice details over the drumming. However the core of this act resides on those slower hypnotic sections blending the ghastly vocals with the atmospheric and synth mix, which are very well performed as well.”

  • Nifelheim (SWE) – Devil’s Force DIGIBOOK CD 19.88

    Black Metal

After having caused a great stir with their self-titled debut, on Devil`s Force from 1998 the swedish savages don`t stray one inch from their path.
NIFELHEIM`s second full-length picks up the smouldering rubble from the debut and takes their unmistakable style up a notch.
Aided by a slightly fuller but still gritty production, the album is a bludgeoning beast of dirty metal infused with lethal doses of satanic insanity.
Filled to the brim with memorable songs Devil`s Force is yet again an outright success and an indispensable underground-classic.

  • Nifelheim (SWE) – Envoy Of Lucifer DIGIBOOK CD 19.88

    Black Metal

After three highly acclaimed albums Envoy Of Lucifer represents the fourth and last full-length of NIFELHEIM.
Originally released in 2007, the album is certainly the most professional out of the bunch. Benefitting from a rather clean all-analogue production and many years as musicians under their belts the record, most notably, surprises with intricate arrangements, proficient guitar solos and the introduction of new elemts to NIFELHEIM`s sound.
Hellbutcher`s and Tyrant`s lifelong worship of IRON MAIDEN has never been more apparent than on Envoy Of Lucifer too.
Despite all this, the album is still 100 % NIFELHEIM with all of their trademarks from previous releases intact.

  • Nifelheim (SWE) – Nifelheim DIGIBOOK CD 19.88

    Black Metal

NIFELHEIM`s self-titled debut from 1995 has rightfully garnered the band much praise in the underground.
Spawned at a time when myriads of bands were hopping on the bandwagon of nice black metal with cheesy keyboards and female vocals, this slab of abrasive old-school metal felt like a much-needed bold Fuck you.

Aptly titled songs like “Black curse”, “Sodomizer” or “Satanic Sacrifice” relentlessly grab for the throat.
NIFELHEIM`s amalgam of pummeling riffs occassionally interspersed with wailing solos, the vocalist`s demented shrieks resembling a rabid animal and the barbarous pounding drums make for one hell of a timeless debut.

  • Nifelheim (SWE) – Unholy Death DIGIBOOK CD 19.88

    Black Metal

Inspired by hatred and some of the vilest and darkest Metal of the 80s, Sweden`s most demented twins, Hellbutcher and Tyrant, came up with their only demo Unholy Death, spawned in hell in 1993.

Although the tracks immortalized on this demo are poorly recorded and rather amateurishly performed they already and unmistakenly bear some of the trademarks the band would come to be worshipped for. Hellbutcher`s insane, utterly
possessed screams and their songwriting talent and sense for melody turn the demo into a must-have not only for loyal worshippers of the band but for anyone into early SODOM, early BATHORY or TREBLINKA.

  • Nocturnal Sorcery (FIN) – The Holy Law in Total Ruin CD 14.88

    Black Metal

Hailing from the ever-fertile Finnish black metal underground, NOCTURNAL SORCERY made their public debut in 2014 with the Satanas Angels Victory Call demo. With vocalist/guitarist Maledictus Vult hailing from the cult Sadokist (he has since departed that band), it’d be erroneous to say that NOCTURNAL SORCERY were a completely brand-new entity. Nevertheless, they continued to feed the (freezing) fire with a split with Daemonlust in 2017 and then another demo, Symbols of Violent Death, in 2019. During all this, a number of successful local gigs took place. The stage thus set, NOCTURNAL SORCERY arrive with their long-awaited debut album, The Holy Law in Total Ruin. Aptly titled, The Holy Law in Total Ruin lays waste to unbelievers who say black metal must “progress” to survive. No, black metal doesn’t need to be more than what it already is – BLACK METAL – and NOCTURNAL SORCERY deeply understand this intrinsic truth as they unfurl nine screeds of hateful-yet-melodic classicism that’s paradigmatically Finnish through and through. While much of the album’s 46-minute runtime is composed of concise slices of cryogenic filth, NOCTURNAL SORCERY are just as adept at stretching compositions to extended lengths, patiently building tension and immersing the listener in the iciest waters. Completing the totality is the occasional inclusion of tastefully subtle synths.
